I was introduced to Dr. Gupta through my studies at California College of Ayurveda (2008 graduate) and was fortunate enough to be able to visit Dhanvantari Dham in the spring of 2016. I was about halfway through an architecture graduate program where I was working part-time and going to school part-time and also completing a master’s in Vastu program in addition. I was 43 and my body was feeling the stress. I tried my best to keep good habits but the western world does not leave much space for health unfortunately and over time lack of sleep and irregular schedule really was taking its toll. I spent 3 weeks at Dhanvantari Dham with Dr. Gupta assessing me every morning with pulse diagnosis and asking me how I was feeling. It was truly amazing to experience his attention to detail and awareness. I had wonderful body therapies daily by the women at the center and a delicious lunch made by hand and heart. Each afternoon I rested and spent 2-3 hours with Dr. Gupta talking about Ayurvedic concepts and also cooking food. I was able to spend time at the on-site temple as well as explore the garden and watch medicines being made with care. Dr. Gupta is truly a heart-centered man who leads by example and was very inspiring to me. When I left, I was glowing and felt 100 times better – I even lost some weight! It was a journey to understand that we must love ourselves and spare no expense or distraction to honor the self. As it is only then that we can be of help to anyone else. I highly recommend if you are a student of Ayurveda or having chronic health issues to give Ayurveda and Dhanvantari Dham a try. So much can be done to gain health with the wisdom of this ancient science that is the founding root of ALL medicine. And to have a physician who has come from a lineage and who has dedicated his life to Ayurveda at the level Dr. Gupta has is a rare gift.
